Creative people getting together

We run a Craft Session on the second Wednesday of the month at the Methodist Church from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. Chris Bates is usually on hand to advise the artists - mainly on watercolour at the moment. Other people have come to learn to knit or crochet .We have sent some clothes for premature babies to Leicester Royal Infirmary and are also busy making things to be included in the Christmas boxes. Some people do embroidery - very creative people , others are finishing something that was started years ago and was stuffed in a drawer. We held a session on bread making in July and have starter sessions for calligraphy that began in September. These are limited to 12 people from 2.00pm to 3.15pm to fit in with the tutor. The charge is £2.50 per session if we get 12 people.

The Craft session is open to anyone. Each session will cost you £1 which includes a drink, a biscuit and a chance for a good chat and a laugh. You can come and go as you please to fit in with your other commitments e.g. collecting children from school. Unfortunately we are unable to offer creche facilities.

Contact Tilly Yates on 01509 413085 for further details.

Club hosts autumn art exhibition

On Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 November, the Bishop Beveridge Club will be hosting an Art Exhibition at the Club Hall on South Street between 11am and 5pm each day. There are a number of talented artists in and around Barrow upon Soar and all local artists are invited to show their work, which will be shown on display boards, if framed, otherwise entries can be made on mounts. It is hoped that many will be for sale along with cards for every occasion. There will be a small fee per display item for entries, however they will be commission free on sales. This is a further expansion of the Club's activities and refreshments will be available at all times.

Anyone interested in taking part please contact Joyce Noon on 01509 414519 or email joyce_cpre@yahoo.co.uk for further details. Entry forms will be available after 1 September, final return date will be Saturday, 30 October. Set up of exhibition will be on Friday 12 November and there will be a maximum number of entries per exhibitor.
