BUSCA – Art and Craft Exhibition

Are you an artist, a sculptor, a photographer, enjoy craft work, and would you like to show your work to a wider audience as well as just family and friends?

Many of us do art and craft at home, some of us go to classes, but it is difficult to know what artistic talent there i s in the village.

BUSCA (Barrow Community Association) would like to hold an Art and Craft exhibition sometime in the future, possibly next year, but would first like to try and gauge the level of interest from would-be artists, to find out who does what and who might like to exhibit their work, and so build up a picture of Barrow's craft and artistic talent.

If you think you might be interested, contact me Chris Bates on 01509413475 or by e-mail, at chris.bates4@btinternet.com and I will try to keep you informed of developments.

Down to Earth

Holy Trinity Church and Barrow Gardening Club will be hosting a Radio Leicester recording of the popular Down to Earth gardening programme on Thursday November 18. This will take place in the Church, and anyone wishing to come should be seated in church by 7.15pm as the recording is to take place promptly at 7.30.

We shall need at least 16 good gardening questions from 16 different people for a successful programme. Anyone wishing to ask for the panel's advice should please send their question, giving name, address and telephone number to Val Thompson at 34 Breachfield Road, Barrow upon Soar, LE12 8NN. E-mail valatbarrow@aol.com, and be able to attend the recording to read out their question to the panel.

Everyone is welcome and there will be no entry fee on the evening but any donations received on the night will be used for the Barrow Garden Fund.

There is to be an annual concert in Holy Trinity Church on Saturday October 2nd starting at 7.45pm.

The evening's programme is as follows:
Haydn: Symphony No 80
Mozart: Bassoon Concerto
