Editorial

It's lovely when an article sparks off someone's memory and it prompts them to get in touch. Vera Bailey read the story of the Old Boys Football Team in our last edition and remembered that her brother, George used to play for the team before the Second World War. She was able to lend us a photo (see page 39) and I'm sure it made George's day at home on Vancouver Island when he received a copy of Barrow Voice featuring his old team.

In the last issue, we also advertised Barrow's Got Talent, a terrific local event and a very successful fund raiser for Help for Heroes. This led to a recollection of village talent 60 years ago and another old photo which can be found on page 29). Please do get in touch if any of our stories jog a memory or if you would like to air a view on Barrow today.

You only need to flick through the pages of the current edition to see how much is happening in the village and further afield. Details of a special 'Signpost to Barrow' event in October, can be found below; there is a report of a working visit to Namibia which BUSCA helped to sponsor and a success story of youth work in the village made possible by a joint BUSCA/Parish Council initiative.
