Barrow Voice interviewed Lorraine and Darren Hickman when they took over The Paper Shop and welcomed them to Barrow. Then again when they set up a ‘Best-One’ convenience store next door, converting it into a ‘Costcutter’ a little later. In March we wrote about the move of the Post Office into The Paper Shop (which seems to have gone well). So no-one will be surprised to find that in his spare time, Darren is Managing Director of a new business, this time in Shepshed.
CHQ Properties is a Shepshed based independent Estate Agency that specialises in residential sales and lettings in Loughborough, Shepshed and surrounding areas throughout Charnwood Borough and North West Leicestershire. It started trading in July 2015. Darren would now like to start selling in Barrow and Quorn.
To help raise the profile of both CHQ Properties and Barrow Town Football Club, the business will sponsor the 2016/17season with home and away kits and other gear, as well as by advertising fixtures and results on the CHQ website. In addition, Darren explained “any purchase or lettings referrals that come from the club to CHQ will generate further funds for the club so it is a win/win relationship”.
Barrow Town FC has Charter-Standard Community Status which means that it provides facilities for all age groups and is recognised by the FA. Darren is thrilled to be supporting the club’s good work and is looking forward to getting to know the teams and their supporters. In turn, Barrow Town FC would like to say a big thank you to CHQ.
