Twenty things you may not know about Barrow Voice!
1. Barrow Voice is run entirely by volunteers. A group of about 14 people are involved, not to mention the distributors.

2. There are over 50 volunteers who distribute Barrow Voice four times a year.

3. Barrow Voice is delivered to 2750 households in Barrow, to the three marinas where residents are living on boats, to all the libraries in the region and to several pubs in neighbouring villages.

4. There are regular subscribers to Barrow Voice who live all over the world. If you know someone who would like to become a subscriber, contact Ann Higgins on 01509 412746.The annual cost at present is £4

5. Barrow Voice is largely paid for by its advertisers and we are grateful for their custom.

6. Barrow Voice Editorial Team is a sub group of BUSCA, Barrow upon Soar Community Association.

7. When Barrow Voice doesn’t quite meet its costs, BUSCA underwrites it.

8. Barrow Voice was first published in September 1975

9. The first publication was a single sheet.

10. Barrow Voice has always been delivered as a free publication.

11. This March edition is only the second colour edition. We have chosen to do this to welcome the new decade.

12. Our first colour publication was the 100th edition in this format.

13. This March edition is the 119th.

14. The graphic design of Barrow Voice is done by Mulberry Square, to whom we owe a huge debt of gratitude because they spare themselves no effort and leave no stone unturned to get things right.

15. The paper that is used to print Barrow Voice is FSC certified (Forest Stewardship Council), ie the wood it comes from grew in sustainably managed forests.

16. Barrow Voice has its own web site which is set up and run by one of the volunteers. The web version is carbon neutral because our hosting provider (Mulberry Square) pay for carbon-offsetting credits.

17. We would welcome new members to the editorial team.

18. We would also welcome anyone who would like to deliver Barrow Voice.

19. There are only four editorial meetings a year.

20. We would welcome suggestions for articles and nominations for personal profiles.
