Spring 2016

Barrow Town Cricket Club are busy gearing themselves up for the upcoming 2016 season.

They run three senior teams competing in the Everards Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket League. The 1st and 2nd teams play at their Nottingham Road ground and the 3rd team at Towles Field, Burton on the Wolds. The club also run a Sunday side that plays friendly games throughout the summer.

The Junior section continues to thrive with teams at all age groups from U10s to U17s. The club have a number of boys and girls who play representative cricket with Leicestershire County Cricket Club and many play on Saturdays in the senior teams. Last summer Jack Nightingale represented the Midlands at U15s level at the 29th Annual Bunbury Cricket Festival.

New players of all ages and abilities are always welcome and if you are interested then please do get in touch with any of the following: Club Secretary Gavin Noon (01509) 412818, Junior Chairman John Shipman (01509) 829260 or Junior Secretary Tracey Nightingale (01509) 621195. The club offers free taster sessions for juniors with access to club equipment.

The club would like to encourage people from the village to pay us a visit during the summer months, particularly on a Saturday afternoon when there is always a senior game being played (weather permitting). Friday evenings are also always busy with U11s and U10s matches and/or training taking place every week. The clubhouse has a licensed bar and is open for refreshments during all games.
