As part of our commitment to help improve the facilities available in Barrow Library, we are now updating the IT.
This involves providing the public with new faster Internet access and new software making a wider range of activities available. This new offer includes video editing, photo and music editing as well as full office functionality. The new service will be available through three Apple PCs, which will replace the existing PCs. The village schools’ IT systems are also based on Apple, so we will be keeping up here.
Some activities will be slightly different to the previous County Council provided facilities, but these should not be an issue and you should soon be able pick them up.
You will no longer be able to book time on the PCs with your library card, but we will update you on the process as we install the new IT.
We are also installing new Print, Copying and Scanning facilities, partly funded by the Co-operative. The good news here is that we will be reducing the charge for Printing and Copying, but keeping the same quality of Laser printing.
Our aim is for all improvements to be completed by the end of April, so why not come and try our new services?
