Barrow-Upon-Soar Open Gardens 2017

On Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th June 2017 you can discover the hidden world of gardens and growing in this much-visited open garden weekend. As we prepare for another Barrow Open Gardens (BOG) in aid of Rainbows Children’s Hospice who knows what will be in store? Will there be more builders-yard planting and wacky patches to intrigue and inspire?

We can guarantee immaculate and classic village gardens, quirky havens and much loved vegetable plots. With such a wide variety on show, every garden in our village has a story to tell. Visitors old and new can be sure of a very warm welcome and a great selection of refreshments sold in the lovely surroundings of the open gardens themselves; proceeds go to Rainbows - what better excuse for cake!

Pre-purchase tickets are stocked by our community-minded village shops: Taylors Florist, The Paper Shop, Barrow Express (next to the library) or Feather ‘n’ Fur. Alternatively buy on the day from any garden with the Open Garden sign from 11:00am to 5:00pm to purchase your weekend ticket. For £4.00 you get a two-day programme that acts as a Garden Passport allowing you to view gardens at any point during the open weekend. Even better, accompanied under 14s are free and there’s a new children’s quiz for our younger visitors.

Venues for plant sales, refreshments and additional parking will be indicated on the larger, clearer programme map also available online on our Facebook page ( Barrow upon Soar Open Gardens ) or the Barrow Upon Soar Village Website / gardening / open gardens
