Landmark year

While writing this four weeks before BV will drop through your letterbox, Barrow has been enjoying an amazingly mild spell with temperatures in double figures even overnight. There is one thing for certain about British weather it's never boring. Perhaps that 's why we are so obsessed with it.

So... I'm sure you'll be interested to look back at last winter's snowy weather : love it or hate it - it certainly caused problems for our intrepid Barrow posties who share their experiences with us. Thanks for the fine service you give us all the year round. And don't let 's forget the generosity of Barrow folk. The LOROS house to house collection has been going for 20 years but this is likely to be its last so, again , thanks to the organisers, the collectors and all those who have given to this very worthwhile charity.

2010 has been a landmark year for Barrow Voice with the introduction of colour to the magazine. This, together with the new cover design, made the Autumn edition one to be especially proud of. The photo of the 'Holiday at Homers', complete with paddling pool and beach balls, is my absolute favourite.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to BV or supported us over the past year. Have a great Christmas and we will be back in the New Year.
