Truth and Truffles: What a way to start Christmas!

Barrow’s next Centre Stage show is an irresistible blend of humour and heart. Truth and Truffles is a “masterclass in enchantment” (Times) delivered by two wonderfully gifted performers. This blend of cabaret, comedy, stories, songs and chocolate will be at Humphrey Perkins Community Centre on Friday December 1st starting at 7.30. A brilliant way to start the Christmas season.

Truth and Truffles is a fabulous two header, delivered by wonderfully gifted performers, the compelling and masterful storyteller Cat Weatherill and the satirical and hilarious deadpan comic Naomi Paul. This is a captivating and beautifully crafted show for adults, of stories, comedy songs and musings about being a grown up, and the little indulgencies that make life worth living (chocolate).

Truth & Truffles celebrates Life as a 'Grown Up': the ups and downs, the regrets and rewards, the hopes and dreams. It's about finding humour in the way we live now, and savouring the special moments.

Cat Weatherill is a firm favourite with rural touring audiences, captivating audiences the world over with her theatrical style and magical presence. Her stories are beautifully crafted and deeply emotional, with cinematic images that linger in the memory. Using her Jewish background as a comedic platform, the hilarious Naomi Paul takes her audiences on surreal journeys, from Birmingham to the Balkans via lingerie and libraries. Sometimes poignant, always funny and ultimately uplifting, Naomi is a real winner, earning four-star reviews at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2015 and 2016.

Tickets can be bought from the Paper Shop or the library in Barrow or by Paypal from www.busca.org.uk (you don’t need a Paypal account; just use your card). Bought in advance of the show they cost £10, £9 (concessions) and £5 (children under 16). With the feel of cabaret, you can enjoy our well-stocked bar while you watch the show. Disabled access is good, parking is easy and the venue is warm and inviting. This must be the way to enjoy professional touring theatre.
