FOURFOLD 'VERY GOOD' SAYS OFSTED
Well, we lived to tell the tale and Ofsted will not be with us again for another 3 or 4 years. Brilliant! What a successful outcome; all the
hard work from the staff and volunteers paid off handsomely. The summary of the inspection was 'very good' in all six areas of learning.
What is being done well?
- The environment is rich in good opportunities for children to explore why and how things
happen and for them to care for living things
- Children are curious and independent learners. Staff effectively encourage children to make
choices and to complete activities and tasks for themselves
- Children are interested in number and simple number problems. Staff are good at using a
variety of situations to talk about numbers and solve problems.
Copies of the full report are available on loan from Fourfold. Do borrow a copy. Thanks also
go to our supportive parents, especially those who found time to chat to the inspector.
Here is a selection of one liners from the report:
"Younger children are beginning to work with number problems whilst four year olds
show a growing confidence in offering solutions to simple problems."
"Children are busily engaged in an exciting and challenging range of activities."
"Children behave really well and have a good awareness of the boundaries set by staff"
"Children speak very confidently, in groups and with peers, with increasing skill"
"Both the 3 and 4 year old children enjoy exploring and investigating an environment
rich in natural, living and man made objects"
"Children really enjoying singing"
Special thanks go to the hard working and dedicated Fourfold staff who maintain their high standards, year on year.
