COUNCIL OF CHURCHES
Barrow-upon-Soar Council of Churches was formed during 1967 with one
of its objectives being to enable the village churches to bear a more
united witness in the Community and serve it more effectively.
Ministerial and lay representatives of the member churches meet together
regularly. As a result of these meetings various annual events have
been held: the Week-of-Prayer meeting in January, Lent meetings, the
Good Friday meeting and services, as well as various one-off events.
The first of ŒWho Goesà was a joint venture between the participating
churches and the Community Association as each was thinking of providing
similar details about its member groups for general publication with
the particular aim of giving newcomers to the village ready access to
information which would enable them to quickly feel part of the community.
Thanks are again due to Barrow-upon-Soar Community Association for
providing the finance required for this venture and to the Warden and
Humphrey Perkins High School Community Centre team for the editing and
printing.
