There have been lots of exciting things happening in Barrow over the last couple of months, topped off with celebrations for the Queen’s Jubilee. Do take a look at the photo montage and see if you can see yourself or friends in any.
Music (see features on Sue Bates, Malc Wagg and Sing it Happy) and animals (the lovely alpacas in the field by the canal and an introduction to a bird song app) play a part in this issue.
Our post office is back, albeit a mobile van in the Three Crowns car park but we say goodbye to Mrs McKay head teacher of Hall Orchard Primary School and to Rob and Amie from the Soar Bridge Inn.
All of us at Barrow Voice would like to extend a warm welcome to the Ukrainian family which has moved into the village. I am sure they are enjoying our hospitality in what is surely a really difficult time for them.

Letter to the Editor
Dear Barrow Voice editor,
Thanks once again for my copy of Barrow Voice. I have been a subscriber to BV ever since I left Barrow in the 1990s to move to South Wales. It is very interesting, as usual. I didn’t know that Brian Henman had died. That’s sad but he must have had a really good life in Barrow.
I was also interested in the article about the North Street shop. I worked there, part-time, for two years with hours to suit school times. The Strettons were kind employers. They gave me a silver spoon to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee in 1977. I’ve still got it!
Yours,
Heather Leader
