We have another full and varied Barrow Voice this autumn. Holidays and illness have meant some planned articles aren’t ready, but we have so many others on offer: the Guides are celebrating 100 years in Barrow; Dr Eva Shirreffs has celebrated her 100th birthday and we are celebrating the community knitting that is enjoyed in Barrow.
There are a couple of campaigns you may be interested in: In with the Bins brings to our attention, the need for sanitary bins in men’s public toilets and, very differently, hairdressers and barbers can sign up to a Green Salon Collective. Some people may recognise the new headteacher at Hall Orchard as Steve Dunn who was a popular teacher there several years ago and members of the Twinning Association also made a welcome return to Marans and enjoyed their time catching up with old friends and making new ones.
We note Halloween with an article considering how a particular mould (ergot) can cause hallucinations and witch-like behaviour. We hope you enjoy reading this issue.
