We’re not talking about the colour; we’re talking moving to net zero!
The Green Salon Collective isn’t very well known (yet) and wants us to encourage our hair salons and barbers to sign up and move towards salon sustainability. It will, it says, transform every single piece of ‘rubbish’ into something useful. Currently:
Founded by environmental experts and interested hairdressers, the Green Salon Collective will take away and recycle all salon waste. They provide each member salon with starter kits, marketing material, next-day collections and ongoing support but they also share useful educational material on all matters regarding sustainability for the whole hairdressing industry.
Wouldn’t it be great to know that your haircut has helped to clean up oil spills? Discarded PPE can be used to generate clean energy. The Green Salon Collective will also compost salon towels.
If your hairdresser or barber signs up, they will have four easy steps to follow which will help both them and you feel confi dent that they can do their best for you AND for the environment.
It’s that simple!
The closest local hairdressers already using the system are in Thurmaston and Ratby. Let’s ask our own hairdressers and barbers if we can help make Barrow move closer to net zero.
It’s easy to find out more, just search for Green Salon Collective on your browser or go to: www.greensaloncollective.com. They are happy to answer any specific questions if you email them on: hello@greensaloncollective.com
