We are delighted to report that Ben Spencer (featured in the last issue of Barrow Voice) completed the London Marathon in well under his target time of four hours (he finished at 3 hours, 48 minutes and 2 seconds) and raised £2,252 for Asthma + Lung UK – more than his target figure. He would like to thank all Barrow Voice readers who supported him.

Barrow Runners had two other personal bests on the day: Andrea Winkless and Justine Albert. Amber Lester ran her first ever marathon at London in an incredible time of 3 hours, 1 minute and 28 seconds while Ian Robinson qualified as an England Master runner shortly before the marathon and was able to wear an England vest! So, it was a truly incredible weekend all around.
