We woke up on Friday 10th March to the disturbing picture of van backed into the windows of the Co-op in the High Street. Thieves had driven the transit van into the store in a failed attempt to take the ATM. By the time you receive your copy of Barrow Voice the new window, tills and cash machine should be in place but Andy Fearn, the Co-op’s manager told me that the police are still working on the forensics of the scene and think it is the same gang who have made similar raids on shops in Nottinghamshire. They have not yet apprehended anyone.
