Philip Marshall Upholstery

Change of Venue, But Still the Same Quality Personal Service

You may have seen the sign Philip Marshall has put in the window of his upholstery shop announcing his decision to close the shop and work from home.

Philip Marshall’s (soon to close) shop

He is, he confirms, just a call away and will continue to quote, advise and upholster our furniture … helping us to give extra life to loved furniture rather than throwing it away and buying new.

Philip started working in Barrow in 1996 in what had been the old bakery. Almost 30 years later, he’s finally decided to vacate the premises saying that work has changed, utility costs increased and he needs to spend more time helping to look after his parents. It hasn’t been an easy decision for him as he has many happy memories of tea and biscuits with his, then landlords, Ken and Dora Marcer and, later, their son Errol, daughter-in-law Joan and granddaughter Vicki.

He’ll still be available to work on our bench seating, sofas, antique furniture, foot stools, and headboards – it’s just that we won’t be able to pop into the shop, instead, he reminded me, he’s just a phone call away.

You can contact him on: 01509 620 100 or 07583 607 421
