While many of us in Barrow watched the coronation from the comforts of our armchairs, Sharon and Matt Gudger (owners of Taylor’s Florist) arrived in London shortly after midnight on the Saturday morning and stayed in the cold and the rain waiting to get their real-life glimpse of King Charles and Queen Camilla in their golden carriage. 

“It was amazing,” Sharon told me. “Well worth doing.” She admitted that it was a bit cold and wet at first but once the soldiers and horses had started parading, it became electric and didn’t stop being a fantastic day. 

They had a great position in the crowd and got some fantastic photos to remind them of the day.
