Food Review: The Moorings

With spring here and summer on the horizon, the weather warming up and the sun hanging around a little longer, no doubt many will want to take advantage of the Moorings’ lovely outdoor seating for a cold beverage or two. But while you’re there please also sample the kitchen’s delicious offerings, possibly while sitting in their very rustic-feeling restaurant which provides a lovely, welcoming atmosphere. Their broad menu is packed with a variety of classic pub favourites as well as some original creations; in particular The Moorings is well known for its pizzas, and rightly so, my personal pick is The Real Greek. Mmm tasty! I was quite impressed with their menu across the board actually, with a large number of options for veggies, vegans, and those with dietary requirements so I’m sure there’s something that’ll catch even the pickiest eye.

Personally, I’m also pleased to see a good selection of desserts available. It always bugs me when restaurants treat their dessert options as an afterthought but thankfully that’s not the case here. My only regret is that I got over excited and ordered too much main and so was too stuffed to try one when I went, but then again, it’s all the more reason to go back. Which of course, I will.
