At the time of writing, we are finally enjoying some warm summer weather so it seems particularly odd to be thinking about this year’s Christmas Tree Festival already. This year, Holy Trinity will be celebrating its 20th Christmas Tree Festival and, with that in mind, we hope it will be extra special. As usual, the dates coincide with the village Christmas lights switch on, so please put the following in your diaries as they are slightly different from previous years’.
Thursday 28th November at 7.30pm the Festival kicks off with the Grand Opening which includes a buffet and glass of wine plus bar. It is the perfect opportunity to see the trees lit up for the first time by our special guest. Tickets are only £7 and pre-ordered only for this event.
Friday 29th November at 7.30pm is Christmas Night at the Musicals with ESNA (fantastic Loughborough-based musical company). Tickets, at £7 for adults or £3 for children, are great value. A bar with wine, Charnwood beer and snacks will also be available. Tickets can be pre-ordered or also sold on the door. Public viewing is 9am to 5pm.
Saturday 30th November the public viewing is 10am to 7pm and the raffle is drawn at 6pm.
Sunday 1st December the public viewing is from 12pm to 6pm. Come and join us for mulled wine and sing-a-long carols between 2.30pm and 3.30pm. This year’s all-age Christingle Service is on Sunday 8th December at 10.30am and all are very welcome.
Tickets for the Thursday and Friday events will be available from October at Taylor’s Florist. Throughout the festival, there will be musical entertainment, a bar, café with hot and cold food and drinks, stalls and, of course, the magical tour of the trees to which so many local businesses and organisations contribute. If you are interested in exhibiting a tree (for free!), then please email enquiries@barrowandwoldsgroup.com for a form.
