Autumn 2024 - Issue 177

Trinity Festival 2024

There will be something for everybody at this year’s Trinity Festival with events over the three days from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th October. A quarter peal of bells will ring before Friday’s concert which will begin at 7pm and will feature pupils from Hall Orchard and Humphrey Perkins Schools and Motion Dance Company, plus some solo instrumentalists. The theme for the evening will be Musicals and Film Music. Tickets will cost £5 for adults with no charge for under-18s.

Saturday’s concert will begin at 7:30pm, also preceded by bells. Entry to this Europe meets America event will be £10 for adults, free for under- 18s. Join us to hear violinist Jon Barwell, tenor David Morris and pianist Jeremy Kimber along with the Trinity Festival Ensemble. The programme will include music by Bach, Vaughan Williams, Mendelssohn, Barber, Gershwin and Bernstein. Tickets for both concerts will be available from Taylor’s Florist or on the door.

On Sunday afternoon from 2pm to 4:30pm we have our Arts and Craft Festival where you can enjoy a range of stalls and exhibitions by local talented artists. You can get your face painted or have a go at crafts yourself with guidance from a local artist. Stalls will include a local wood turner, sewing, paintings and handmade glassware, small toys and gifts. There will be live demonstrations of spinning wool, and painting. Local musicians will entertain you as you browse the stalls and exhibitions. The bells will be ringing again too.

All events will take place at Barrow Holy Trinity Church.

Refreshments will be available throughout the Festival. Put the dates in your diaries now and make the most of this opportunity to experience these events so close to home.
