Special Issue 160 Summer 2020

Holy Trinity Church, Barrow-upon-Soar

Whilst our Church buildings have had to close and all public worship has stopped during this time of crisis we are continuing to offer live Sunday worship. Details of this including the video links can be found on our website at http://www.barrowandwoldsgroup.com. Or you can connect via Facebook on https://www.facebook.com/revdclive.barrowwolds. We are now using Zoom to hold live services on a Sunday morning at 10.30; If anyone would like to receive the log in details for these services and other regular prayer and worship materials, then please email the vicar at rev.clive.watts@barrowandwoldsgroup.com or you can call him on 07534 899522. The flag continues to fly from the tower as reminder that we are still here even when our doors aren’t open and that we are praying for all the people of the village.

In the midst of this fear and uncertainty our faith in God offers us hope. Jesus gives us the reassurance of his presence with us at all times saying; “remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20) It is often said that the Bible tells us to not be afraid, or not to fear, 365 times, once for every day of the year. It is reassuring to know that no matter what is happening in our world, despite our concerns over Coronavirus, and in times of adversity and sickness, God is there with us, walking alongside us, and offering us the comfort of his redeeming love and saving grace. In the words of St Paul “nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither […] our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow.” (Romans 8:38-39)
